Had lunch at Cafe Niebaum-Coppola. The poet Lawence Ferlingetti was sitting across from me. The gentleman he had lunch with talked briefly about the John Kerry fundraiser here last night in SF. Francis Ford Coppola came in to say hello to Lawrence Ferlingetti; so I got to see two celebrities today. The sun is just coming [...] Took the day off and went to Point Lobos State Reserve (about 4-5 miles south of Carmel). Saw lots of anemones, mussels, crab, and some abalone. While I was filming the surf with my camcorder I heard a clicking sound nearby, and looked over to see two crab (about 4-5 inches wide) fighting each other. I [...] Just finished reading Blackwood Farm by Anne Rice. It took half the book (530 pages) to get to the point where there seemed a plot, a direction; but after that the book took off, and Anne Rice combined the Vampire stories, with the Mayfair Witches stories, and newcomer Tarquin of Blackwood Farms.
